The Mother
Twelve seekers set out together to climb a mountain toward Truth. One by one, each is called back by the very thing that first defined them — service, doubt, reason, beauty, youth, love, renunciation — until only two remain, bound to nothing but their own aspiration. At the summit, they find that effort alone cannot carry them further. Only surrender can. The discovery and growth of one’s inner being is not a mere figment of imagination but the consistent expression of psychic truth, of a direct experience ‘that passes all the argument of the earth.’ Only a rare few have hit upon this adventure; they are the pioneers of the spirit’s ways.
"Evolution is not finished; reason is not the last word of the Mind, nor is man the highest term of Nature. As man came out of the animal, so out of man shall come the super-man... If man is incapable of exceeding himself, then he will be left behind and a new species will take his place."
— Sri Aurobindo, The Life Divine
