Devotion (and success in practice) is perfected by these six qualities: enthusiasm (utsāha), firm conviction (niścaya), patience (dhairya), acting according to scriptural instructions, abandoning worldly company, and following the footsteps of the saintly.

Upadesamrita (Verse 3) by Rupa Goswami

thyself within , then think
and act."

Sri Aurobindo Ashram - Samadhi

A white marble shrine where bodies of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother are laid to rest

The Ashram is meant for those who want to consecrate their lives to the Divine.

THE MOTHER

The Eternal is before us, the Eternal is behind us, the Eternal is to the south and to the north, the Eternal is above and below and extended everywhere. All this magnificent universe is nothing but the Eternal.

Mundaka Upanishad (2.2.11)

The Mother by Sri Aurobindo

To walk through life armoured against fear, peril and disaster,
only two things are needed, two that go always together:
the Grace of the Divine
and on your side an inner state made up of
faith, sincerity and surrender.

Let your faith be pure, candid and perfect.

- Sri Aurobindo

What Sri Aurobindo represents in the world's history is not a teaching, not even a revelation; it is a decisive action direct from the Supreme.

The Mother

In the fall of 1934, a young man asked the Mother if she would write one sentence a day to him. When she agreed to do so, he presented her with a bound notebook in which to write. By filling up one page a day, the Mother completed the notebook in the course of six months. That handwritten book is now "The Lesson of Life".
